If your movers do a great job, you should consider tipping them—it’s a nice gesture that’s always appreciated by the crew.

We suggest tipping about 15% of the cost of a local move. For long-distance moves (between states), split the tip between movers at pick-up and drop-off. That said, the amount of the tip is up to you, based on distance, the size of the moving crew, and the level of service you received.

If you’re feeling extra nice, you might also provide some snacks or beverages if it’s a long move or an especially hot day. A little iced tea goes a long way.
